Short History In 1945 Korea split into two nations North and South Korea. Korea was owned by China Until 1910 when Japan took over China and Korea became a Japanese colony. On March 1, in 1919. 33 Koreans gathered together and demanded freedom. Even though it failed to get rid of the Japanese it strengthened the Koreans spirit of national identity. On August 1945 Korea finally regained its freedom. This joy was soon gone for the fight began to be which one would rule North or South. No one won the war and it is technically still going on but have had a long cease fire period.
